maybe it's me, but just don't think it's funny. I think sometimes people get caught up in their circles (cougarboard) that they don't realize how they are perceived by others. That post comes across VERY arrogantly.
BYU has gone to great lengths to be hospitable and "A+" fans. The University always goes out of its way to ensure a memorable gameday experience and trip to Provo for opposing teams and fans. They even instituted the "Host Program" where volunteers welcome opposing fans in the northwest entrance and offer them a free trip up to the press box. Don't you remember all the great comments TCU fans were saying after their visit to Provo? They were amazed at our class.
Everyone on here was raving about how classy the football team was after the Air Force game by waiting for them to finish their traditional post-game song. Others posted pictures of BYU players kneeling after the game in respect to a CSU prayer taking place at midfield. That is class.
Once again, maybe I'm wrong, but does that post really embody what the University is about? Those BYU fans who attended the Notre Dame Game in South Bend were blown away by the experience there. Isn't that what we want for our University? For opposing fans to take away "shock and awe" both by our play on the field and off in the way they were treated? Instead, some stoop to the level of a few crude and rude Poke fans and engage in that crap.
I don't know, it's just not for me. My purpose is not to offend or reprimand fellow cougarboarders (or tell them not to have fun), but to provide an alternative opinion.
