yeah, initially i was trying to stay relevant to the OP's concern. outside of
a scenario like what we saw at Syracuse, there isn't any strategy that says the fastest kids shouldn't run. the OP was basically saying they were leaving his son out of relays despite him being faster - and i doubt he's a Nathan Kaufusi where he's running a bunch of other events and not needed.
