I didn't like the Thor Character Arc in Endgame. Why did they do that?

I can totally go for the idea that Thor got depressed and hid and got drunk. Fine..... someone would in that situation.

BUT, why didn't he snap out of it faster? And why, when he is such a wreak for most of the movie, would you take him with you on your "one chance" when he is a total wreck?

Have him snap out of it faster ...
