My older brother was at BYU in 1951 and that was an impressive team and the NIT was very much on par with the NCAAs. Hutchins and Minson were incredible players. It all came together that year! I was at BYU for the 1966 run and was really imptessed with the overall balance of that team. We had great guards and two decent centers ((both nearly 7 feet tall). Really a great lineup and a fun team to watch. Of course, the Ainge Years were great as well as Jimmer’s senior year. But the player that had me mesmerized was Kresimer Kosic. I’ve never seen a BYU player at that size come close to his ball skills or shooting touch. Watching him make shots in practice way beyond the 3-point line was unforgettable.
