1) Mika - absolutely lived up to the hype. incredible player. Best BYU big in a long time. Sure he left early, but mostly because he played so well at BYU.
2) Nick Emery - two very productive seasons. Starter as freshman and sophomore. Borderline all-conference player both years. 2 years left to play
3) TJ Haws - 1 very productive season. 1st team all conference as a freshman.
I have a hard time with BYU fans claiming these three "didn't live up to the hype." First of all, there are 5 seasons left to be played by these players. Secondly, if you expected more than what I have listed above, that's a YOU problem. Maybe take it easy with the Spencer Linton/Greg Wrubell/McCann & Fowler hype.
There are a lot of HS players who don't work out (academics, transfer, languish on the bench.) All 3 LP3 made it to BYU, and have performed well. I would add that I haven't seen in any instance where any of the LP3 have hyped themselves, similar to the Iggy's bunch. They have said the right things and just competed on the court.
