Yes, it was a Tolutau run. No, it was not his longest run from the read option. It was the touchdown run.
It was only one yard-- BUT did you notice that he found a seem and went into the end zone still on his feet? Somehow that huge back found a seem to run through that none of our other, much more diminutive backs haven't been able to find. It was like-- Nirvana! Smelled like Teen Spirit!
Just imagine how much better the entire offense would work if Tolutau can be that improved back! It will make the quarterback look twice as good without changing a thing.
One final observation-- Our qb's need to learn to dump the ball off to the running back EARLIER in the play. Right now it seems like the throw to the running back comes as the qb is looking to run the ball himself. By that time the db's have their eyes in the backfield and are coming up to make a tackle. IF the throw came as the rb released, before the scramble began, then our rbs would have a little space to make some extra yards with their feet.
