...are some aspects of this game that make good matchups for BYU in this game.
-- LSU's offensive strength is their running game & BYU's defensive strength is stopping the run.
-- LSU's defensive strengths are also more run oriented & BYU's offense will be more pass oriented.this season. Plus, one side of LSU's secondary is pretty inexperienced and untested -- they are likely to make a few mistakes in their first start.
-- The loss of Arden Key will significantly affect LSU's linebackers and might give BYU TEs and RBs some very nice pass opportunities.
-- LSU is likely to try to run the ball up the middle -- a lot -- because that is where their strength lies. If BYU can stack the box and BYU's secondary can stymie LSU's very average passing game, especially in regards to big plays -- BYU has a chance to slow down LSU's offense.
-- This will be LSU's very first game w/ a brand new offense and a brand new offensive coordinator. That is unlikely to affect Guice very much, but the rest of the offense, especially the QB, are likely to still be learning the new system, so they are probably going to still be a little uncomfortable and will probably make some mistakes.
