If you were nearsighted and in glasses for distance vision prior to that time, this is also the time that your near vision starts to go. I was in glasses for distance since 7th grade, and at around 40 was when I needed to adjust how far away I held writing to be able to read it. I'd get in to the optometrist and get your vision checked.
