All-American
He was 22 years old.
Sure, he was a freshman (and not really a true freshman, he grayshirted his first year and then went on his mission), but it's not reasonable to compare him to 18 year olds.

Our guys competed last year...should have won that game easily...Sitake had

I'm expecting between 6-6 and 8-4.

Magnum was a true freshman against decent defenses
BYU '80
6/28/17 2:30pm
Mangum was bad against good defenses.

Did you forget the 2nd half of the Vegas Bowl?
Westsider
6/28/17 2:38pm
No, I didn't.
displacedute
6/28/17 2:41pm
He was very bad in the first half, very good in the second half
Westsider
6/28/17 2:53pm
He was much better in the second half, but I'm not sure he was "very good".

That's an argument that can be said about Utah too

I wasn't saying it's a gimme.

displacedute
6/28/17 3:05pm
Sure it is. Three years removed probably a bigger disadvantage than 18
BYU '80
6/28/17 3:09pm
I'm saying being 22 makes you better than being 18.
displacedute
6/28/17 3:16pm
Mental advantage but definitely not athletically or skills
D.T. Survivor
6/28/17 4:19pm
Skills probably not.
displacedute
6/28/17 6:14pm
A little bit. Have you been on a mission?
D.T. Survivor
6/28/17 9:14pm
Exactly. Missions generally hinder athletic ability.

Boise state had several NFL guys on that defense and he did pretty well
BYU '80
6/28/17 3:03pm
No, he didn't.
displacedute
6/28/17 3:12pm
So not bad in either case. Move the goal posts much?
BYU '80
6/29/17 12:07am
Boise was a good defense and he was good.

Tried to convince my other BYU fan friends that this was the case, to no avail.

BYU '80

I would buy the 8-4 more than the 6-6

I'm too worried about the OL to feel confident in that.

Utah will do Utah things. I don't think offensively they will be a juggernaut

8-4...50/50 against BYU. This one I feel less confident about than the last
Rise as Utes
6/28/17 3:39pm
Since 1993, Utah leads the Holy War 16-7. Utah wins again vs BYU, goes 8-4.
DoseOfReality
6/28/17 3:54pm
so, simply by inductive reasoning?
yahtzee
6/28/17 9:30pm
8-4 is based on the current team - I just had to get in that 16-7 jab.
DoseOfReality
6/30/17 9:29am
7-5 with 60% probability that BYU wins this year.
