Where I live right now, I can imagine it possible within a decade to be able to press a button and have a driverless car show up and pick me up to go to work, to the store, or to church for a modest fee. There are many kinks to work out to enable such a service to always be running - but they might be able to get there. But such a service wouldn't come close to solving all my transportation needs (example above). Thus, I would still need to own a car. Thus, I wouldn't often pay to use this service, even if it existed. It's possible that technology and services like that might make it possible for me to own 1 car instead of 2. But it wouldn't get me to 0.
