For those who have done it, what price have you paid for fresh "freezer beef" from a local farm? Do you buy a 1/4, 1/2,
or whole portion of the cow? I've seen some ads on Craigslist in my area for ~$2/pound. I assume that's pre-cut, and that I'd be paying closer to $5/pound of packaged beef.
Is there anything else you look for specifically when deciding what cow/farm to choose?
