It sounds like he is a great player - I have not seen him play at Snow - but from a recent radio interview I heard, the ONLY thing that turns him off about BYU is defensive scheme. The only thing. He is accustomed to play as a 4-3 DT and has no desire to adapt into what Bronco's D would require of him. He's neither a Bronson nor a Tuiloma and, in all fairness, that's why Utah was just the better fit for him.
This was all before recent visits to BYU and really giving his recruitment a long, hard second look in recent weeks. Ive heard people saying they have seen him in BYU gear around...heard he is very, very close with Steve Kaufusi. All good things. We'll see if they prove to be enough to sway him from Utah. That alone would be maybe the best Xmas present.
