Seems like you're making an apples to apples comparison there.
Here's what Nebraska did wrong - they went away from being Nebraska after dismissing Solich. Practically every HS in the entire state ran the Nebraska offense. That gave them tons of experienced and knowledgeable depth. They hired a guy to run the WCO and got away from their identity.
BYU just has to stay away from getting away from their roots. If Ken Niumatalolo wants to run the triple option if he's hired, stay away. If he's fine morphing his offensive philosophy to fit BYU, then look at him. Bronco isn't what makes BYU BYU.
