This year, they imploded when 1 guy went down--Booker. A hurt Covey did not help, but come on. Is your PAC12 depth so thin that losing 2 guys ruins your shot? Just tells me Utah is not as deep or talented as the local media cheerleader chorus wants to sing. Sort of reminds me of BYU, to be honest. So yeah, Utah and BYU are still close programs.
Utah had a bigger choke back in 2011. Just beat an awful Colorado team at home and you win the south. And Utah only had to go 5-4 in the PAC that year because USC was ineligible.
Utah has choked 2 chances. And now that USC will rise up, UCLA is back to being solid, and both Arizona schools have a pulse(none of which was happening in 2011), Utah is going to be battling for 3rd in the south at best annually.
And I still won't tune in to Gunther.
