When receivers seen zone they should redirect their routes to the gaps. The easiest one is running across the field to lose the corner and finding the gap right between the linebackers and the safeties. In this case it was really wide open because Kurtz (5) and (I assume) Mathews both ran verticals which drew the safeties back even further than usual. Great route rewarded by a good throw.
