I meant you'd need to compare Beck's improvement from Soph. to Jr. seasons
to other QBs' improvements over their Soph. and Jr. seasons, not to QB production in general

donnerstag

Lavell left the cupboard pretty bare and Crowton filled it with a bunch

8/27/15 11:09am
That's scary

8/27/15 11:20am
Crowton left the program with a bunch of players that did succeed
donnerstag
8/27/15 11:26am
Did you watch the '02 thru '04 seasons?
Left Shark Coug
8/27/15 11:35am
The numbers weren't that much different
donnerstag
8/27/15 11:49am
1200 more yards, 12 more TD's and a higher efficiency rating aren't much

Why don't you compare in an apples to apples way?
donnerstag
8/27/15 12:16pm
Sure, let's just make up stats and call it apples to apples.
Left Shark Coug
8/27/15 12:32pm
No. I'm saying you can't compare TDs and yards thrown when there is a material
donnerstag

A quantum leap between his junior and senior seasons? You serious, Clark?
Left Shark Coug
8/27/15 1:09pm
Beck went from a 2:1 TD to Int ratio to 4:1 as a senior
donnerstag
8/27/15 1:22pm
He quit tossing picks, basically.
Left Shark Coug
8/27/15 1:44pm
No. He threw more TDs and threw less Ints
donnerstag
8/27/15 2:09pm
I got you too focused on just the QB. Beck's stats were just the start.
Left Shark Coug
8/27/15 2:54pm
again, shallow analysis. 04 team played the #11 toughest schedule....

8/28/15 4:15pm
if you were old enough to watch games back then you could see the difference
icecougar
8/28/15 4:06pm
You'd need to compare it to other QB's and see how much improvement is shown on

The production we got from the QB spot was more or less steady from '05 to '09

I meant you'd need to compare Beck's improvement from Soph. to Jr. seasons

kind of dumb, he had nearly 200 more attempts, of course he's going to compile..

2001 was stacked with talent, even on D, despite the fact our D sucked that year

Crowton found lightning in a bottle with Doman/Staley
donnerstag
8/27/15 11:44am
Yeah, for sure. Just making the point that he had a lot of future NFL
Jericho
8/27/15 11:46am
The problem was that there was nobody in the pipeline
HiLife
8/27/15 11:55am
absolutely true
Jericho
8/27/15 11:58am
The wide receiving corps was the best Utah County had to offer
donnerstag
8/27/15 12:17pm
It was pretty bad, for sure
Jericho
8/27/15 12:31pm
The loss at home to unlv in 2004 plus off field is why he was fired.

It didn't help that his long time friend and DC was in love with the 3,3,5

Except he gave away the Stanford game and the Wyoming game was just
Left Shark Coug

Imagine if he had lost to Nevada or a 1 win uva or 54-10
CarolinaCoug

English, dude, English.
Left Shark Coug
8/27/15 1:46pm
He did worse than that, he lost to UNLV at home and threw the ball 50 times to
mtnKat
8/27/15 2:06pm
Nothing is worse than 54-10 and Nevada is little bro to unlv
CarolinaCoug
8/27/15 2:14pm
Not to get too picky, but UNR owns UNLV in football and it's not even close
Jericho
8/27/15 2:18pm
I agree kinda like Utah owning us huh? But I mean historiclly
CarolinaCoug
8/27/15 2:25pm
Utah has always had the better record over us
Jericho
8/27/15 2:29pm
They haven't played each other much...I would have thought
CarolinaCoug
8/27/15 2:44pm
I'm not even sure what you are saying
Jericho
8/27/15 2:54pm
I should stop with your Nevada is little bro to unlv comment. You have no
mtnKat

Wasn't the cupboard bare partially due to his own recruiting?
Bostonblue
8/27/15 1:49pm
That was one position group basically
donnerstag
8/27/15 2:02pm
It was a failure that was one of his major undoings. It made his firing easy.
Bostonblue
8/27/15 2:52pm
They were low on talent for sure, but keep in mind that there were 2 losses

Crowton also brought in David Nixon, Bryan Kehl, Manase Tonga, Harvey Unga..
icecougar
8/28/15 3:47pm
Unga was recruited by Bronco
Jericho
8/28/15 4:04pm
Unga was part of Crowton's last recruiting class in 2005. Bronco inherited that
icecougar
8/28/15 4:27pm
Bronco had to seal the deal on the Unga recruitment, it is well known that
