But I would be willing to bet that Heaps was taken a little out of context by the reporter. Maybe not though. But it would be hard to argue that Steve Young's mission was to play NFL football. And Young treated it that way. Maybe that's part of the reason he never got married till the end of his career. In any event, I am sure Jake is just repeating what his psycho parents drilled into his head. They wanted him to be the next Steve Young.
