So I have always been super-critical of BYU football fans who attend the games. In my life, I have probably attended about as many Cougar games as Ute games (grew up in a BYU family). I have always gone off on the nature of BYU fans. They drove me nuts.
Always booing their players.
Always calling for the head of the QB or coaching staff.
Always throwing out under-handed compliments after mediocre plays (and usually the same after big plays, such as "Finally! After 5 screen passes, you throw a bomb!" Like those 5 screen passes didn't set up the deep ball).
Always screaming, "SIT DOWN FRONT!" on a Third Down.
I don't know why, but it has gotten just as bad at RES.
Booing our team/coaches during probably 2-3 home games this year.
ALWAYS calling for the head of Kyle and Travis.
Non-stop sarcastic comment from the piece of crap who sits in front of me.
After this year, I am going to try and move seats because of him. I have great seats (30yd line, 29th row on the West Side), but moving away from his negativity will be worth it.
It disgusts me when people boo their own players. These are kids doing their very best and the least we, as fans, can do it cheer them on, through thick and thin.
Really, the only difference I felt this year between Y and U fans was that at RES this year, I had to tell a guy to watch his mouth because kids (not mine) were in the same area and at RES, we can still stand up for big plays without people yelling at us to sit down.
Sometimes I really hate "fans." I think there should be some kind of "honor code" for attending a game.
