I am with you though. He should never look for the three. He should only do it if he is wide open. With Fischer and Toolson we do not really need him looking for threes. If he takes one a game and shoots it between 36-40% (he was 36% last year) he will be fine. Him shooting threes is not important for our offense as a scoring option, it is more important that his guy feels like he has to guard him close enough on the three point line so our offense can facilitate through him and allow KC to create penetration.
