Common Core isn't a teaching method. It's a set of standards.
This rant (and numerous others like it on CB) is equivalent to saying that expecting a quarterback to know footwork, throwing technique and how to read a defense is a crappy way to teach a QB.

A bunch of teaching methodologies have been pushed out all over the place as districts try to figure out how they're going to achieve the new standards. These obviously vary widely in quality and efficacy, but they aren't common core.

Do people really have a problem with trying to make education standards at least somewhat uniform across a country with as much internal mobility as ours?
