approach so unreasonable. I actually have been using some of their methods with realizing. For example, when I have to add two larger numbers together quickly, I go through a process similar to the top two boxes in the following example I found by googling "Common core math problems":
If I had to add 119+126, I would break them down (not all the way like the problem above) and just add 110 and 120 (130) and then add 15 (9+6) to get 145. Takes about 2 seconds. Or I'll add 119 +100, then tack on 20, then 6.
Is this representative of all Common Core methodology?
