Ala JJ in 2010. It's definitely a very effective route, but both QB and RB have
to be on the same page. I've seen it several times at Carolina where we've been killing a team with that route, the starting RB goes out for whatever reason, and it just doesn't work with the backup even though it was still open.

The problem with Alge and Lasike for me, is that both run like FB's who don't know they've got the ball in their hands. Kariya was the worst at this. What I mean is, they seek out guys to hit and run over. I remember several times when Kariya would break through the line, but instead of just running full speed ahead and potentially past would be tacklers, he'd actually turn to his right or left so he could take them head on. That's great if you're an FB blocking for a TB, but sometimes running away from tacklers is the better option if you've got the ball.

Both Alge and Lasike are good at what they do. Both very punishing runners. Both can take a 5 yard pass/run and turn it into a 10 yard pass/run by plowing over people. But Jamal can take that same 5 yard pass, either stiff arm or juke a guy, and turn it into 20 yards (or more).
