I have a crazy Mary Kay stalker story
This woman calls our house and says to my wife "so are you ready for the Mary Kay party tomorrow night at your house?"

My wife was very confused...

Other end of the phone: "So now remember you promised at least 7 people will attend in addition to you and if you can get 12 people you'll get to chose some extra prizes. Don't forget to have healthy refreshment options as people will be more likely to buy if they have eaten".

My wife: I don't know what you are talking about, who is this?

The person give their name and my wife responds I have no idea who this is I've never spoken with you before.

"Yes you have, you gave me your phone number and told me this was the best way to reach you."

My wife: No I didn't I've never committed to hosting a Mary Kay party in my life.

Me seeing her flustered I get on the phone to talk to the woman and she says "oh don't worry I've worked out all the details with your wife and hung up."

Next day she calls my wife again while I'm at work (worked in a laboratory in a military hospital) and starts going on and on about expectations and what time she'll arrive, etc. My wife calls me in a panic and says she is thinking of calling a bunch of people to come over last minute just because she is so freaked out that this woman is going to show up. My wife wrote down the person's name this time and told it to me. I had no clue who the person was either. I was then talking about the crazy Mary Kay lady to some people I work with and one of the woman asked if I knew her name and when I told her she said "oh I know her".

After hearing my co-worker talk about her I put it together. This woman worked in the family practice clinic in the hospital and when we took my son into an appointment the week before this lady had asked us to confirm some of our personal information (like phone #) so she could make sure the system was up to date. She then took that as we willingly gave her our phone number and she could get away with the hard sell of this Mary Kay party. Well an hour later I was sitting in the squadron commanders office relaying the story (the first sergeant was busy). He was practically rolling on the floor laughing that anything like this could possibly have occurred. I was actually feeling like he was not believing me and was going to laugh me out of the office.

Then the 1st Sergeant got out of his meeting and was walking by the office and he called him in and started to tell the story. He said - let me guess and named the woman before it got very far. The commander was surprised as he hadn't heard any of the stories up until mine but apparently there had been several. Apparently my wife was the first that had been reported as harassment of a civilian as the others were all active duty people.

Less than 60 days later the lady was discharged from the AF. She actually had told the woman I worked with (who knew her from living in the dorms) that she was happy she got kicked out because in 12 months she'd be driving a pink Cadillac and would be rich. My thought was - but where will she get her customers if she can't pull their information out of the hospital computer system?
