BUT considering Jimmer's health issues last year, & the fact that he wasn't given the green light to shoot till the end the of his Sophomore season -- Jimmer will have entirely earned the right to unend Ainge's scoring title if it comes to that. And Danny's not the type of guy to mind one bit if that title is eclipsed. In fact, I'm sure he's among the fans who are cheering him on to do just that.

I really think Jimmer can make it, & if Dave could do it over, I think he'd almost have the title wrapped up right now. Other than jumping on Foster too late in the recruiting process, I think Dave's biggest error as a coach was keeping the team squarely on Cummard's shoulders throughout the course of his Sr. year. That was a good team that should've won the MWC title & should've gotten at least to the Sweet 16. If that team were built on Jimmer by the middle of conference play I think it would've happened. Lee was a great athlete and skill player, but just not a leader. And not a great high-pressure scorer (a good one, but not great).

Jimmer is not only the best shooter in BYU history, bar none -- I think he's as good an overall scorer as Danny ever was (not as good of an all-around player, mind you). He fully deserves Danny's title if it comes to that. No asterisk.
