"..when the season (or show) is over.. the season will all make sense.." That's often the case with severance.
Seems to me that a lot of people want to treat Severance like it's an action series and want them to hurry up and get to the point whereas the Severance showrunners take a more scenic route to eventually get to the point.
The scenic route taking is done for a variety of reasons but I think the main reason is to maintain the mystery factor of the show to a certain level to keep people interested.
