Rocky Mountain power WILL be going to time of use. They have already allowed people to do it voluntarily. Mark my words within 5 years it will be mandatory. If you doubt do some research on the duck curve.

When that happens people that have solar will be in a similar boat to Californians. It will only really make sense to pair your solar with a battery for what they call “rate arbitrage”.

The fundamental purpose of the battery is obviously backup power but the ancillary benifits are surprising to most. For Utah people who are on schedule 136 and definitely 137 with Rocky Mountain power it’s just silly not to have a whole home battery. It essentially converts your net meter back to 1:1. The battery is literally stuffing money back in your pocket daily. A generator can’t do this.

Even the schedule 135’s that are grandfathered lose that and come 2034 then they will be like everyone else.

Batteries are the bridge to nuclear and nuclear probably doesn’t happen for 30 years.
