right now, benefitting from significant roster continuity and Mobley's emergence. Garland and Mitchell are both barely positive in net on/off per 100 possessions. Talented roster for sure, but right now the run they're on is a definite "sum is greater than the parts" experiment (not too dissimilar from Mitchell's days in Utah - Don/Conley/Bogey/Rudy instead of Don/Garland/Mobley/Allen).
LeVert is 1st on the team in on/off net per 100. He's a free agent this summer. Jerome and Merrill are free agents. Not many avenues to replace those guys with decent rotation options. Will the front office be willing to spend to keep them around? Is the team going to find regular success for multiple years starting 6'1" Garland, 6'2" Mitchell, and 6'5" Strus? How many more games do they lose in 2026-27 if just one of Mitchell, Garland or Mobley miss significant time with injury?
That 2027 pick definitely looks more likely to be a late 1st right now. But a lot can change in 2 years for a team that is going to be really stagnant outside of internal improvement from Mobley and maybe Garland.
