In the first episode they introduced:

Edmond, Mercedes, Mr Dantes, Mr Morrell, Danglars, Albert, Caderousse, Villefort, Mr. Noirtier, Villefort's first wife (betrothed), and her parents. I know for a fact that Luigi Vampa has been cast, which is awesome.

I will say that the acting by some of the characters is a little stiff. Dantes is great, as is Danglars.
