This game featured a 7-5 B1G team against an 8-4 B12 team (not a 9-3, 10-2 or 11-1 B12 team). So if Rutgers had held on to its lead then the guy could maybe claim they'd have won a game or two more in the B12 without appearing completely ridiculous.
The 4 wins statement is obviously meant to elevate Nebraska's 6-6 record (3-6 in B1G play) to a hypothetical 10-2 record to come in just one game ahead of 9-3 Colorado. That's a pretty big stretch, even for a desperate Nebraska fan. A worse version of Colorado beat Nebraska 36-14 last year.
Nebraska football is down as it has been for years because the administration stupidly forced out an 8-win Bo Polini without realizing their program is in the middle of freaking nowhere and that they were actually really lucky to have a solid winning coach that was happy to be there and understood how to recruit to Nebraska. Nobody wants to coach for a bottom-half B1G program that still mistakenly believes it is a blueblood program even though it is on a five game losing streak to Minnesota.
