I wouldn’t doubt it, at all, if this has something to do with Kevin Young and the recruiting he has done starting to translate over to football, as well. You know that Jordan wants to sign Aj, Demin, Catchings, and other future NBA guys that are likely 1st round/lottery picks. Signing with Jordan now, will get them, specifically AJ, wearing Jordan gear, and could mean big NIL money to the entire program. It is one thing to tell a recruit that Nike sponsors the uniforms/program, but telling them Jordan/Jump Man is on their shoes and jerseys, will be massive. It will also be a big selling point for big recruits to know that they will be watched and can work with Jordan marketing and business contacts, before going pro and with the help of BYU’s NIL office and advisors.
There is no bigger brand. Plus, it will make Ute fans suddenly declare that they are anti Jordan, and that U.A. is a bigger brand. Considering Young’s connection to Chris Paul, K.D. and Booker, all under the Jordan label, this is not surprising, and could explain why Paul wants to come work out with the team next summer.
