Let him? He’s the President. They can advise him of the risk but he ultimately
Makes the decision. He’s in charge, not the lawyers and while an apology has a slight chance of increasing the odds of legal liability; many good leaders will disregard their lawyers and do the right thing and what’s best for the organization.
