It certainly gives him something to point to that no one else can.

The all-time win total is within reach (about 5 more seasons). If Reid can get that AND has a 3 peat, then I think a lot of staunch Bellicheck supporters would admit it isn't so cut and dry, even if Reid has fewer Super Bowl titles (but who knows, Reid would have four total if they get the three peat and in five more years he may have one or two more Super Bowl wins pulling him even or closing the gap with Bill).
