I ran into a large rock and damaged the front bumper pretty bad.

I did not buy the insurance from the rental car company. I did have my own insurance and used a MasterCard that had car rental coverage. Between those two I didn't pay anything and just dropped the car off after calling MasterCard and it was good (no headache).
