I've perceived it as exclusive of Christianity in some circumstances.
I worked at a place that provided all kinds of intranet digital cards to send clients and they were all sanitized with zero mention of Christmas or Christmas iconography. "Happy Holidays" and "Best Wishes of the Season"

What holidays? Which season?

Everything Christmas, even secular stuff like wreaths or Christmas trees were excluded. I've seen it elsewhere to varying degrees and across culture where overt mention of Christmas is like many other Christian traditional things. Sometimes no problem. Sometimes taboo.

Not everyone that has noticed it is old and watched Fox News.
