The key is that it has to be a natural fit. Meaning, the person has to
represent and embody the students, alumni, and leadership of BYU. THEN, for it to even matter the person has to be respected and cool to the outside world. If you’re eliminating all athletes then that takes away Steve Young, Trevor Matich, Jimmer, Ainge, and that list goes on.
Mitt Romney has some free time coming up in his future. Stephanie Meyers has the name. But neither of those fit the mold.
There really is just one person that REALLY stands out above the rest right now in being able to truly be representative of the student body, administration, and alumni AND is cool to the external world—Mark Rober.
