They need to remove the conference champions being in top 4. That makes for
Less competitive games. Give conference champs a home game instead but not a bye.
5 ND at 12 Clemson (at ND since Clemson not ranked above other 4 conference champs)
6 OSU at 11 ASU
7 Tennessee vs 10 SMU
8 BSU vs 9 IU
I think this gives you 2 competitive games, maybe 3.

Ok. The 12th team is playing close on the road against the team that was a couple yds short of the 2 seed, but sure.
