step forward, but I don't see why NCAA needs MLS leadership to make those changes.

If BYU were to ever sponsor a men's D1 team, then as a fan it would be better to move a bunch of the season to the spring when there is less competition from other sports going on. However, there are so many different D1 universities with different needs: many D1 soccer sponsoring schools don't have a men's football team and so are using the men's soccer for entertainment in the fall. Many D1 teams are in the north so don't want winter games. Many D1 teams are in the south so don't want summer games.
