I've lived in five different apartments around the city and stayed in hotels all
Over. It totally depends on the experience you're wanting and the budget. But if I were on a tight budget, I'd stay in the quiet 14th or 15th. Reasonably priced and very safe and a very true Paris feel.
With a little more, I'd stay in the 16th.
If you want less quiet, more action, do it for sure, but be aware of the tradeoffs.
