Another thing to remember: we went from 5-7 to 10-2 from 2023 to 2024 based almost exclusively on retaining
players, having them in the program for another year, and building them developmentally.
2023 was a massive portal class for us, and with so many new players in the program, nobody knew how to do their jobs well and it showed on the field and the final 5-7 record. Having to go to the portal for a large number of starters generally is not a good thing.
