That’s why it’s frustrating having people only saying 10-2 like it is the end all be all. There is much improvement to be had, and many of the games it was the offense lagging. Not to mention from the fans perspective of watching the games. The pace in the final three games was much slower and it was tough to watch. As was pointed out once a couple of turnovers happened in those slower games we didn’t have the possessions to get back into it.
We aren’t saying the defense was perfect (though they did have a great season) we are simply saying the offense was much more productive and energized when the pace was picked up a little. You can play with some tempo through the game. No need to run the play clock down to under 5 every play. That was also a contributor to wasting timeouts in the first and third quarters that make it tougher to run the 2 minute offense to end the half or win the game.
