Pole is the center of the earth and that Antarctica is an ice wall around the outer edge of the Earth. Not sure how that idea is congruent with the 24-hour sun in Antarctica in the wintertime because the theory of how the sun "orbits" the earth explains away the 24-hour sun at the North Pole, but would necessitate the same thing NOT happening at the South Pole.
