BYU realistically is not going to consistently compete for the Big12 title and a birth if the CFP like we did this year with recruiting rankings at the bottom of the conference.
We lose way too many of the recruiting battles for top LDS athletes, and way too many of the top players in Utah. That's what has to change.
And it's doable. BYU wins a much higher percentage of the top LDS basketball talent than we do football talent. No doubt that's party because Utah's basketball programs is several notches below BYU's. But it wasn't always that way - Majerus made Utah the best team in the state, and Cleveland and Rose had to turn that around both on the court and in recruiting. And they did. Sitake and team has to do the same.
In fairness to them they've had pretty limited resources. But BYU gets full Big12 money next year. No excuse for not turning it around.
