I've never understood why we call any country something different than what they
Call it in that country.
I mean, I guess it makes some sense with names like United States of America or the USSR. I can see how you'd say then in your native tongue because they have English equivalents.
But country names like Germany, China, Japan, etc. shouldn't we call them what they call themselves?
