The main change has been increasing our protein intake and decreasing simple starch/carbs. . . But overall ever since the 1989 WHO study and subsequent Food pyramid, sugars have been bad.
For as long as I have been alive, sugar has always been bad, even if scientists and research focused on fat and the harms associated with fat intake instead of focused on the harms of sugar intake.
