Completely disagree on one point
"If he was as good as some were saying he would've played more..."

Kinda surprised a BYU fan would assert that.

Hagen is an RM and a fairly recent returnee IIRC. BYU of all the places is smart enough not to rush players like this back into full service, particularly when the need for their services isn't dire. We had a stacked receiver room this year and an attack where there weren't infinite catches to spread around. Jake was putting up 218 yards through the air, not 350. It made complete sense to bring Hagen along slowly.

Second, the argument isn't what he is now, but what he'll be next year. Hagen drew positive reviews in camp. He was one of the crown jewels of his recruiting class (and would be for any BYU class), and he brings the speed that so many BYU WRs lack. Give him another full offseason of work and conditioning, and I don't think it's unrealistic that he proves too good to keep off the field.

I think we'll see him thrive alongside a better Retzlaff and even better Roberts in 2025. We'll know next fall.
