You'd be wrong. The money opened the door, but KY and the BYU atmosphere is what
brought AJ to BYU.
Per AJ's financial advisor the NIL offer was the same from BYU, NC, and Bama. AJ chose BYU because he wants to come to focus on basketball without distractions (honor code, not a party atmosphere) and he specifically mentioned the fact the KY and staff from the analyst, to the strength coach are all NBA guys. His goal is to play in the NBA so it made sense to come to the NBA like program in the country.
