A tremendous part of Oregon's success has been their marriage of athleisure, style, and sports. They never wear the same uniform twice, and almost always look good. That's a tough sell for people over 30 (where's their continuity? their tradition?) but it's incredibly appealing to the teens who are playing HS sports and collecting multiple "colorways" of their favorite shoes.
IMO, BYU's done a good job of appeasing both camps. The uniform template is straightforward and traditional, and they really don't vary from that unless it's to pay homage to other uniforms in BYU's back catalog (awesome retro helmets against Washington, or 90s jerseys against K-State). But they also have enough colors (royal, navy, black, white) and enough derivations on those colors (glossy, chrome, matte) that it stays interesting for the recruits and guys on the team (who are, at the end of the day, pretty dang young).
I'd love to see BYU mix navy and royal at some point. Call it the "Kalani"
