Even though you were in the wrong and you value your time over the life of schoolchildren, just by showing up and being
contrite you can probably get the fine reduced. It definitely won't be because of any legal argument you make.
Hopefully the judge has the stones to make sure you learn to stop when there is a stopped school bus.
