The offensive line for BYU wore down a bit toward the end of the year, there was
a drop off in o-line play, especially pass blocking. In addition to the O-line taking a step back the second half of the season, teams realized that if they pressured Jake more and forced him to make quick decisions it would work out in their favor. Teams also played more one on one with BYU receivers deep not expecting those deep passes to connect (most did not the second half of the season) which allowed them to take away the run and shorter passes better.
