The city has unveiled a huge plan to renovate the stadium and adjacent hemisfair park, connecting the two by building a tunnel for the freeway.

As it stands today the alamo dome still gets used quite heavily. Several high school regular season and playoff games per year. The high school all-American bowl. We get at least half a dozen A-list concerts there per year. Final four of course this spring for the 5th time.

Its definitely not up to modern standards of comfort and luxury but it is far from falling into disrepair or underuse despite not attracting an NFL team the way the city hoped. I will be incredibly pumped if BYU gets the alamo bowl. Aside from being 15 minutes from my front door, it really is a one of a kind stadium and bowl experience.
